Non condensable gas

Non condensable gas is a gas that cannot be condensed or absorbed by lithium bromide solution during the operation of lithium bromide absorption units. Due to the need to operate in a high vacuum environment, the sealing performance of the lithium bromide unit will gradually decrease as the operating time increases. In addition, the metal inside the unit will undergo electrochemical corrosion with lithium bromide solution under the action of oxygen, producing non condensable hydrogen gas. The non condensable gases generated by both will destroy the vacuum state required for the operation of the unit, and even if the content is extremely low, it will have a serious impact on the operational performance of the unit.
Therefore, improving the sealing performance of the unit, timely removing non condensable gases during operation, and maintaining a good vacuum state of the unit are the basic conditions to ensure the performance of the unit. The automatic pumping device is the key component to meet this operational requirement.

 

Working principle of automatic air extraction device


The core working principle of the automatic exhaust device is to use the high-pressure lithium bromide solution at the outlet of the solution pump as the power source for the injector, and use the negative pressure formed at the outlet section of the injector to automatically extract the non condensable gases in each chamber of the unit; The extracted gas is mixed with the solution to form a gas-liquid mixture, which enters the gas-liquid separator. After separation, the gas is temporarily stored in the gas storage room, while the solution flows back to the absorber to participate in the system circulation again. The specific workflow is as follows:

1. Injection pumping: The high-pressure lithium bromide solution at the outlet of the unit solution pump flows through the contraction section of the injector nozzle, forming a high-speed jet due to the narrowing of the flow channel section, and generating negative pressure at the outlet section of the injector; The absorber and condenser are connected to the negative pressure zone through an exhaust pipeline, and the non condensable gases accumulated in the unit are automatically extracted and mixed with the solution by means of pressure difference.

2. Gas liquid mixture: The non condensable gas extracted by negative pressure will mix with the high-pressure lithium bromide solution flowing at high speed in the injector to form a gas-liquid mixture, which will enter the subsequent gas-liquid separation stage together with the solution.

3. Gas liquid separation and temporary storage: After the gas-liquid mixture enters the gas-liquid separator, the gas-liquid phase is effectively separated due to changes in flow velocity in the channel. Among them, the separated non condensable gas enters the gas storage chamber at the top of the separator for temporary storage, while the separated lithium bromide solution flows back to the absorber of the unit through the reflux pipeline at the bottom of the separator, continuing to participate in the solution circulation and injection of the refrigeration system.

4. Discharge of non condensable gases: The gas storage chamber continuously collects and separates non condensable gases. When the gas volume reaches a certain amount, the pressure sensor detects the pressure change in the gas storage chamber and triggers the "low vacuum degree" alarm. The user starts the vacuum pump to discharge the non condensable gases outside the unit.


Through the above automatic pumping device, continuous gas collection and timed pumping are achieved during the operation of the unit and the high-speed operation of the solution pump. The non condensable gases inside the unit are always controlled within an extremely low range, effectively ensuring the high vacuum operating environment of the unit and ensuring the stable and efficient operation of the lithium bromide unit.
