The impact of fouling on the chiller of libr refrigeration units
After running for a period of time, the lithium bromide absorption chiller will gradually form a layer of dirt on the inner walls of the heat transfer tubes on the absorber and condenser sides due to the influence of cooling water quality. The larger the fouling coefficient, the greater the thermal resistance, the worse the heat transfer performance, the lower the cooling capacity of the unit, and the increased energy consumption.

The presence of dirt on the unit has the following impact on its performance:
1) If the outlet temperature of cold water is constant, as the fouling coefficient increases, the cooling capacity decreases and the heat source consumption increases;
2) If the cooling capacity is constant, as the fouling coefficient increases, the outlet temperature of cold water gradually increases, and the consumption of heat source increases;
3) As for the absorber, the increase in fouling coefficient of the absorber heat transfer tube increases the thermal resistance of the absorber heat transfer tube, reduces the heat transfer effect, changes the temperature of the absorption liquid (concentrated solution) sprayed onto the absorber heat transfer tube, increases the pressure inside the absorber, thereby affecting the absorption effect of the absorber and causing a decrease in the cooling capacity of the unit;
4) As for the condenser, the increase in fouling coefficient of the condenser heat transfer tube leads to an increase in thermal resistance of the condenser heat transfer tube, a decrease in heat transfer efficiency, an increase in condenser pressure, a decrease in condensation effect, and a large amount of refrigerant vapor cannot be completely condensed, resulting in a decrease in the production of refrigerant water and affecting the spray volume of the evaporator. As a result, the cooling capacity of the unit decreases.
The formation of dirt on the cooling water side depends on the water quality flowing inside the pipe. The change in visible water quality has a significant impact on the performance of the unit. The deterioration of cooling water quality not only causes fouling and affects the cooling capacity of the unit, but also seriously corrodes the heat transfer tubes of the unit, causing perforation of the heat transfer tubes and affecting the normal operation and service life of the unit.

Therefore, the refrigeration unit needs to strictly control the quality of the cooling water during daily operation, including controlling the content of solid pollutants in the cooling water not to exceed 100 milligrams per liter; Regularly monitor and check the pH value of the cooling water, and control its pH value between 7-8; Take cooling water samples on time and test the content of calcium, sulfate ions, and chloride ions in the cooling water to ensure that their mass concentrations are below 20, 30, and 12 moles/liter, respectively. The above methods are used to maintain the stable operation of the refrigeration unit and extend its service life.
